Data Centre Service Coordinator

 Responsibilities:  
The Data Centre Service Coordinator will be responsible for the maintenance of the Data Centre White Space area and manages customer service delivery in the Data Centre. DCSC specializes in the execution of tactical plans for the data centre services to ensure continuity of operations for the organization. He/She will be required to plan, design, manage and support the white space infrastructure.

Key responsibilities will include to;

    Ensuring a consistent client experience in providing DC Services
    Following and executing best practices linked to ITIL disciplines
    Understanding of Service Level Agreements (SLA) for clients in the facility
    Responsible for coordinating on-boarding activities for clients, and executing client setup/configurations
    Managing and coordinating of Client rack installations, power up and interconnectivity
    Active participant in the Change Advisory Board (CAB)
    Responsible for planning and coordination and execution of Change Records (CR) as it relates to Data Centre Space, power and cooling management
    Responsible for client expectation management
    Providing support to Operations Centre (NOC)/Service Desk initiatives and providing assistance for client communications
    Contributing, creating, and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) documentation and reporting periodically
    Identifying and recommending automation, process improvements, and identifying opportunities for increased reliability and a better client experience
    Reviewing and reporting on daily operational logs with Data Centre Manager
    Performing other duties as requested by the Data Centre Manager
    Ensure timely reporting and escalation of faults to designated persons (suppliers / internal stakeholders).

Supervision  
To work directly under the supervision of the Data Centre Operations Manager (DCOM)

Qualifications, Skills & Competencies

    A good Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer
    Science/ Engineering with at least 5 years industry experience.
    ITIL® qualification and practical knowledge will be an advantage.
    Demonstrates proficiency in the use of MS Office suite, including Visio
    Exposure to formal project delivery methodologies
    Strong organizational and time management skills
    Customer service, focused on overall client satisfaction
    Ability to work within a deadline-oriented team environment, to prioritize work, and ability to work independently

Multi-Skilled Engineer

Responsibilities:  
The Multi Skilled Engineer will be responsible for the Data Centre physical infrastructure both for the White Space area and also the other supporting Infrastructure. He/She will maintain various sub-systems of the BMS like Chillers, PACs, Electrical Transformers & distribution panels, DG. He also needs to work on systems like BCPM etc. to monitor power consumption by Racks/ IT load.

Key responsibilities will include to;

    A thorough understanding of electrical systems for large campus right from the supplier to the respective operational floor
    Thorough understanding of HT & LT electrical distribution systems and large capacity UPS systems
    Knowledge and Experience handling HT & LT control panels, LT & HT switch gears, CT’s, AVR’s, etc.
    Operations and maintenance of HT DG systems
    Operations and maintenance of UPS systems
     Good working knowledge of HVAC systems namely Chillers, PAC’s,DX type units etc.
    Capable of creating & understanding SLD’s
     Capable of handling expansion projects in line with the customer requirements
    Excellent logical reasoning and trouble shooting skills
    Plan & execute all preventive maintenance schedules
    Maintain adequate records for undergoing operational audits both internal as well as external
    Handle all kinds of Non-IT electrical provisioning for end customers within the shortest timelines
    Evaluate new products and technologies
    Through understanding of Energy Management and ensure optimal usage of power from the Grid
     Innovate, Implement and practice energy savings and reduce the cost of operation
    Operation report review, weekly, Monthly.
    Expansion design ability and Space planning and allocation
    Excellent second level ability to troubleshoot Mechanical and Electrical systems faults within the DC infrastructure.
    Capacity planning and Upgrade; ability to plan and upgrade systems within the infrastructure.
    For the purposes of quality assurance, you will support and ensure that all applicable security standards – including the PCI Data
    Security Standard (PCI DSS) are duly complied to.

Qualifications, Skills & Competencies

    B-Eng. Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
    Facility Management qualification will be added advantage.
    At least 3-5+ years of exposure working in large campus/Data center establishments
    Technical Knowledge of various Electrical Distribution and sub systems, HT DG, Large Chillers, PACs.
    Microsoft Windows XP/Vista/7
    Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, Outlook).
    Cost conscious professional, successfully exhibiting excellence in significant savings through effective execution and evaluation of projects.
    Strong team player
     Strong organizational skills and innovative problem solving abilities.

Electrical Engineer (Project)

The Electrical Engineer will be chiefly responsible for supervising and monitoring daily project Electrical works as assigned by the GM. Site and reporting work progress including performing quality checks and controls.

    Monitoring & reporting daily Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) work activities on site
    Keep track of installations & ensure alignment with approved design drawings
    Ensure quality of work, terminations, piping, cable lugs etc. with great attention to detail
    Ensure quality of materials for conformance with approved specifications and regulations
    Supervising tests of materials including ATP (Acceptance Test Procedures) and FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests)
    Keep custody of printed maintenance drawings
    End to end project management and delivery (Initiation, Planning, Implementation, Quality Control & Reporting, Documentation & Closure) of assigned projects and in line with overall business goals
    Other responsibilities as assigned by Head Capital Projects.

Transmission Planning Engineer

Responsibilities  
The Transmission Engineer will be responsible for the operations of the SDH components in the Main One Optical Transmission Network interfacing with the terrestrial and transoceanic fibre optic cable systems.

Specifically his/her responsibilities shall also include:

    Co-ordination of site surveys for PoPs and the planning of new equipment cabins and towers
    Overall project planning, delivery and update of the milestone project plan
    Provide support as delegated on  last mile connections, including microwave radio technology deployment
    Interpretation of MW Link Budgets
    Support the team in the planning, dimensioning and implementation of optical SDH transmission equipment
    Work directly with Vendor support to manage the Optical Transmission Network (OTN).
    Coordinate and manage equipment installation services, OTN component vendors and schedules
    Report on capacity, inventory and utilization of applicable transmission and carrier equipment configurations. Provide detailed engineering documentation to support and ensure the success of required projects. This will involve site surveys, gathering of field data and generating reports on current capacity and database
    Supporting the effective management and documentation/ assignment  of infrastructures /Facility space, Racks, ports in POPs
    Conducting Link budget and SLA validations on vendor reports before service request order is released to the Provisioning  team in other to achieve the expected turnaround time and bench marked quality of service
    Provide the required support to escalated issues from Operation and Vendors
    Allocation and documentation of Frequency sub band and channels to Provisioning and operation team against interference and operational issues
    Effective management and  generation of upgrade/switching licenses to meet customer requirements

Qualifications, Skills  & Competencies:  

    A Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent in Information and Communications Technology or Engineering
    At least 2-3 years’ experience in the configuration, operations and maintenance of optical fiber SDH transmission equipment
    A working knowledge of microwave transmission and must have undergone a basic training in optical networks and SDH/PDH/IP networks
    Knowledge of SDH quality of service and network management concepts is necessary
    SDH OTN knowledge and/or experience working in a telecommunications environment
    Ability to interpret topography, network design maps and CAD Designs
    Knowledge of a vendor network management system
    Good oral and written communication skills
    Time management skills
    Team work abilities
    Ability to work well under pressure
    Solid foundation in electronics theory
    Demonstrated mastery of telecommunication industry standards, dimensioning transmission network element systems, ITU, and ANSI/ETSI etc.
